Matt + Jaimi, Romance on the Rooftop.

I had the pleasure of meeting Matt and Jaimi through work - and anyone who knows them knows the magnitude of energy they carry as a couple. Jaimi is an angel on this earth, calming and wise; and Matt feels like a cartoon come to life - he literally jumps off the page! The two of them have such a beautiful chemistry - I knew I wanted their wedding even before they were engaged. The queens at our office planned this beautiful proposal winter scene for Matt (we staged it as a lifestyle photoshoot for work) and the rest is history! Fast forward a year and half and were basking in the Okanagan sun on a rooftop watching these two beauties exchange their vows.

Super thanks to my pal Kaitlin for always being my number one partner in crime and to Kristin & Ryan for the hilarious weekend - making us your “pseudo- children” and carting us winery to winery! Sending all my love you to Jaimi, Matt and the beautiful future this life holds for you guys!

Kat + Dallas, Tofino Elopement.

I met Kat about nine years ago when we were both working in the pro shop at Victoria Golf Course. She is a stunning fine art painter, old world heart and we’ve always had a soul connection - I often refer to her as my little sister. But as our twenties are filled with growth and searching - Kat went off to school in Montreal and then settled in on the coast living on a boat with her dreamboat, Dallas.

I had only met Dallas once prior to this magical elopement - but Kat said from the moment they met she knew he was the one! And I think he felt the same too because their engagement came pretty quick after they started dating. The two of them made me feel so much love - so much confidence in the journey we are all sharing together - their love is so solid and full! It’s mesmerizing, truly!

Our day started with getting ready in a GORGEOUS Air BnB very close to Cox Bay - which was both their engagement location and our set vow location for the following day. And in true “good luck” nature, the wedding day was filled with heavy rain, thick gorgeous fog and some pretty low temperatures. But we didn’t let that get us down! We still hiked up to the vow location and carried on as we had planned - and I must say, my goth soul always loves gloom for photos. I hope these images bring you as much joy as they bring me! A huge congrats to both of you Kat + Dallas, I can’t wait to see where your wanderlust hearts lead you next.

Love on Two Wheels

Okay friends... let's note a few things here.

  • I'm writing this three glasses deep on a Saturday night thinking about how magical all our little soul-intertwine-action in this life really is.

  • I could BAWL my face off for how amazing this night out was with Randy, Jen + the Cyclepaths crew!

  • I feel like I blinked and it became May. Who's out there dancing the Time Warp? I am trying to slow my roll, by at least ten speeds.

So, let's get down to the story behind this images. I met Randy many moons ago through our beloved pal Donna Lynn Photography and I ALWAYS had a major lady crush on girlfriend, Jen. I remember walking into Rowena on Whyte and thinking, "Hot DAMN, she is as cute as a doll!"

Fast forward through a few shoots + many bonding moments and I was bugging Jen and Randy a couple weeks ago to take some shots of them on their bikes together just for some Instagram love! Randy messaged me privately and said, "It's so funny you'll be coming on the Saturday bike ride with your camera.... I'll call you later. Don't tell Jen."

I think I screamed in my office cubicle when I read the message because I INSTANTLY knew a proposal was in the works. The next few days flew by and alas, it's Saturday - and I'm standing on Randy's patio planning the proposal logistics with him - and the rest is history! I couldn't think of a more lovely and deserving couple of all this mad romance, truly and sincerely! And to the Cyclepaths family, thank you ALL for welcoming me in for the night, lending me a bike, and proving to me that punkers are the best people that roam this earth! A million hugs, high fives + wine swishes from me XO

Heather and Ben - Country Love at Home

I was blessed enough to meet Heather through our beautiful mutual friend Dani White (a killer hairstylist from Rock It Out Salon if you're in the market!) back at Bridal Fantasy in January. Heather and Ben are getting married next summer in New Brunswick and wanted to capture some cozy at-home snaps for their engagement photos. Their adorable dog Opey couldn't resist stealing the spotlight! Thank you both for welcoming me into your home, it was truly an honour to spend the afternoon with you both!

Sunday Cozy

A Surprise Proposal, Matt + Jaimi.

Some of you know, and many of you don't... but I get the great pleasure of having dual careers and packing my weeks with a ton of different projects! Variety is truly the spice of life. My day job introduced me to this amazing couple back in the summer and I've had a (minor) obsession with them ever since. They're wonderfully smart, quirky, talented, hilarious and they share the most charming romance I have seen in a long time! So when Matt asked me if I would photograph his surprise proposal I was "100% head and shoulders" in! It was a very chilly Friday afternoon in December and the stage was set by my beautiful boss, Kristin. We had tricked Jaimi into this adventure by telling her I needed lifestyle winter couple photos for some ads coming up in January. This is what happened next:

Tatiana + Adam, Engaged.

There's nothing quite like Canadian winters. Unpredictable, bone-chilling and breathtaking. This gorgeous couple reached out to me and asked for an engagement session that included all their favourite spots: a coffee shop, a book store and the Legislature. Our day rolled around, it was -27 and snowing and they rocked it! Here's some of my favourite snaps of the day. XO Bre!
